Jane Hayes and Jan Riordan have joined forces to offer a stunning painting and a unique figurine of St Olga, for bids from €150 for the painting and from €50 for the figurine to support Ukranian Refugees locally.
 
The figurine is hand made by Jan Riordan in polymer clay, 21 cms high with her hovering peace dove. St Olga is the patron saint and Queen of Kyiv and Ukraine, she personifies the bravery and resilience of the Ukrainian people today.

Jane Heyes is offering one of her colourful paintings, evoking summer by the sea in colours evoking the spirit of Ukraine, with bids starting at 150€.

This painting and a poster of St Olga are on display at Les Artists, 21 rue Courtejaire, Carcassonne, to 30 May, where bids can be placed.

Audois Ukraine Entraide in Carcassonne have set up as an association to support Ukrainian refugees locally, transporting several families from Poland, welcoming new arrivals, finding them accommodation and helping others on their way to their chosen destinations.

*St Olga was a strong lady from the past who defended her City and son after her husband was brutally murdered. She is still revered in Ukraine today.
